Donald R. Shriver, MFA Inducted into Cambridge Who's Who

Donald R. Shriver's paintings have been displayed at Gallery 41 and Anacara Galleries in Binghamton, NY

    APALACHIN, NY, August 27, 2010 /AE PR News/ -- Donald R. Shriver, MFA, retired Associate Professor & Art Department Chairman at Asbury University, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in art instruction.

Donald R. Shriver taught art and painting classes as an Associate Professor from 1981-1991, and served as Art Department Chairman from 1984-1991 at Asbury University. As such, he was responsible for maintaining academic excellence, hiring faculty, and developing curriculum that integrated with the liberal arts college at the university. While obtaining his Master of Fine Arts at the University of Tennessee, he taught an adult education figure drawing class and exhibited his work in yearly shows. While attending Asbury University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Art Education and became a certified (K-12) teacher, Mr. Shriver ran for student body president and was an editor for the Asbury Collegian, the university newspaper.

A member of the International Scholastic Institute, a former member of Christians in the Visual Arts, and a former participant in Partners of America Art Exhibit in Manaus, Brazil, he was privileged to be named a selected participant in an honor student seminar, held by Asbury University. Attributing his success to his hard work and passion for art, he hopes to expand Gallery 41 in the future.
